About

The Full Story

Being an Air Force Brat, Donna has lived all over the world settling in Panama City, Florida during the 1970's.  In 1992 she moved to Bonaire...a small island off the coast of Venezuela where she and her husband, Sparky Thorne, owned and operated an art gallery and music studio for nine years selling their work to international tourists.

They returned to the United States in 1999 opening a Caribbean restaurant, The Hurricane Grille, on Panama City Beach, Florida.  Their artwork adorned the walls of the restaurant creating a gallery effect.  In 2006 they sold the restaurant and moved to Taos, New Mexico. Then off to California Wine Country. Working for Tommy Smothers of "The Smothers Brothers", as personal assistant and private chef for five years, while still involved in art and a gallery in Glen Ellen, CA.

Getting to the age of retirement, they moved back to Florida and settled in Tallahassee for eight years.  Now they have decided they have one more adventure in them and their off on their final voyage back to the Island of Bonaire.  They have plans to open an art gallery and music studio by the end of the year.  Stay in touch for news of the opening of BontikiStudio on Bonaire, N.A.
